In India Basin shipyards and industrial coastline were restored and replaced with a park. Below we have an image from 1928, followed by one taken in 1996, and then two more from 2007.
India Basin and the southeastern shoreline is also home to a number of indigenous plants and a restored habitat.
A new park was recently carved out of the industrial shoreline along India Basin, just north of Hunter's Point. In these pictures, the power plant, finally shut down after years of community pressure, is on the shoreline, prior to its deconstruction.
